Fort of the "Vieux Canton"
Description
Witness to a new generation of fortifications, the defensive organization of the Villey-Saint-Etienne forest represents the ultimate evolution of this type of fortification. These defenses are centered around the Vieux Canton fort, the only modern fort in the Toul area, built in reinforced concrete. The Villey-Saint-Etienne forest is a veritable fortification conservatory.
Patiently cleared of vegetation, the site now offers a pleasant walk along a signposted and well-informed route. Signs and leaflets allow you to discover the site at your leisure.
INDIVIDUAL GUIDED TOURS
March to November: first Sunday of each month, no reservation required.
Meet at 2 p.m. at the fort parking lot, at the entrance to the forest - Signposted itinerary at the village entrance.
