Les Halles
Description
Airvault, a "Petite Cité de Caractère", is dotted with architectural treasures and is steeped in history. The Halles, built at the end of the Middle Ages, took on their current appearance in 1846. The Halles testify to the importance of trade in medieval times. 40 meters long, 10 meters wide, their slate roof rests on an apparent oak frame. They host a weekly market on Saturday morning.
