Description
In the summer of 1908, Braque returned to Estaque for the third time and took as his motif a group of houses still visible today.
Thus was born Houses at Estaque, the painting about which the word cubism was coined. Two years earlier, Braque had depicted the same motifs in a Fauvist work.
