Villa Valmer is a magnificent 19th-century bastide on the Corniche Kennedy. It overlooks Marseille harbor and its islands. Surrounded by a lush 1.6-hectare park, open to the public, it features tropical and Mediterranean species.
The Villa Valmer, the "Wave at the Sea" villa, was built in 1865 by the Marseille architect Condamin, in a renaissance style. It is located at the top of a vast park planted with tropical plants brought back from the owner's trips to the Orient, a rich oilseed merchant. The villa now belongs to the City of Marseille.
