Les Moulins du Terrier Marteau

Les Moulins du Terrier Marteau
Les Moulins du Terrier Marteau

Description

Two windmills dating from the 18th and 19th centuries stand side by side on the hills of Pouzauges, in a site with a remarkable panorama. After 15 years of dormancy, their majestic wings are once again visible above the town. The crushed wheat becomes flour, and on certain days the baker turns it into bread, which is then baked in a wood-fired oven. Enjoy a stroll through the animal park (chickens, rabbits, pheasants, fallow deer, turkeys, goats, etc.), with the added bonus of a breathtaking view of the mills.

Bread, brioche, flour and drinks for sale on site.

Visits from 6 July to 31 August 2025: Friday, Sunday and Monday afternoons, 2pm to 7pm.
1st tour departs at 2.30pm. Last tour at 6.30pm.
Visit to the mills at an additional cost. Free access to the park.

Guided tours inside the mills are available for groups all year round, by prior arrangement with the Tourist Office.

Sale of mill products (flour, bread, brioche, etc):
- Monday & Friday: 9am-12pm & 4pm-7pm, at the mills
- Thursday & Saturday: 8am-12pm, under Les Halles
