Description

The new Clemenceau-De Lattre National Museum comprises the house where Marshal de Lattre was born and the house where Georges Clemenceau was born, both of which have been awarded the "Musée de France" label and the "Maison des Illustres" label. Located in the heart of Mouilleron-en-Pareds, just a few metres apart, rue du Temple is the link between the two properties, which are accessible via their gardens.

Presentation of the birthplace of Jean de Lattre, Marshal of France: Guided or accompanied tour.

Jean de Lattre de Tassigny was born on 2 February 1889 in the home of his maternal grandparents, Jules and Zélina Hénault, a royalist and Catholic mayor, where his parents lived. He spent his childhood there until he left for college, and would return throughout his life.

The house where he was born has preserved its 19th-century decor, furniture and gardens. A bilingual presentation explains his role in twentieth-century French political and military history.
