A comforting camping stopover in the heart of the Queyras Regional Nature Park, at the foot of numerous mountain passes and not far from the mythical Mont Viso!
So welcome to the Monta base camp, where you'll find all the services at the price of a municipal campsite!
Laureate of the UNESCO Mont Viso Biosphere Reserve + "Valeur Parc Naturel Régional" label, La Monta base camp, also known as Camping du Chardonnet, Camping de Ristolas or Camping de la Monta, is located in the Hautes-Alpes (France), at the bottom of the eastern Queyras valley (1755 m), in the commune of Abriès-Ristolas, at the foot of the Ristolas-Mont Viso nature reserve, through which the GR 58 runs.
Here, from mid-May to mid-September, you'll find all the essential services you need (bakery, local produce, laundry, library, social life, etc.), as well as the supplies you need for walkers and backpackers on tour. All in 00 waste!

Sustainable tourism
With all its different names, the Abriès-Ristolas campsite feeds the imagination of many a mountain dreamer. For the adventurous, the base camp evokes great challenges and a taste for the summits. But the Chardonnets campsite is also a tempting end of the world for contemplative types, an eagerly awaited stopover for hikers on the GR 58, or cyclists looking for a challenge... For all, it's above all a place to live. As Didier reminds us, "We live here with what we have", simply and together. Protecting the environment is a shared priority. So at the bar, no Coke or Fanta, no aluminum and no plastic! When it comes to drinks, we offer organic lemonades, syrups and fruit juices from local producers, and local beers.
