Nuton's Hole

During your walks in the communal woods (entrance via Rue de la Montagne, in Falisolle), you may notice a strange hole in the rock. It's an old mine gallery dating back to the end of the 18th century.However, legend offers another explanation. This hole was once inhabited by Nutons, those strange little creatures that lived in our region. Somewhere between dwarves and elves, they lived in groups, away from humans, in caves. In exchange for food, they helped the villagers by repairing objects or cultivating the land. However, they had to be treated with respect, as their anger was terrible.
