160 plant species (including 5 protected) coexist with many animals. These wet meadows, used as feeding grounds for birds, are home to a large proportion of the breeding birds of the Marais Poitevin, such as shagmire knights, black terns and black-tailed barges. It is also home to the marbled newt, the spotted pelodyte, the green and yellow snake, the viperine snake and the European otter.
An open access observatory is at your disposal as well as a telescope and information panels on the fauna, flora and management of the reserve.
Observatory accessible all year round, however the best periods for observation are winter and spring.
