This massif, thirty minutes from the Nantes-St Nazaire metropolis, is located on an alluvial plain that joins the Vilaine valley to the west and the Mazerolle plain to the east.
Half of the forest is made up of deciduous trees (sessile oak, beech, wild cherry and wild cherry) and half of coniferous trees (Scots pine, maritime pine and laricio pine).
Its management has a threefold objective: to protect a sensitive and fragile natural environment, to produce quality timber and to welcome the public in partnership with the Departmental Council.
There are educational, walking, horse-riding and interpretation trails, as well as shelters and picnic tables. They can also discover an arboretum.
