The river Erdre has its source in La Pouëze, in the department of Maine-et-Loire. From North to South, the river flows through the Eastern part of Nort sur Erdre on 15 km, and constitutes an attractive fishing zone. It also made it possible to build many tanneries and wash houses, which no longer exist today, as well as several flour mills, many of which are disused nowadays, such as the one located in front of the port in an imposing reinforced concrete building.
