Nestling in the heart of the Thouet valley, the Château de Montreuil-Bellay opens its doors to a thousand years of history! Founded around 1025, this jewel of medieval heritage invites you to take a trip back in time through its spectacular fortified ramparts, moats and vaulted underground passageways, as well as its central fireplace kitchen, all fascinating relics of the Middle Ages.

Over the centuries, the fortress has been transformed into a charming residence, elegantly enhanced in the 15th century by magnificent vaulted cellars, followed by the collegiate church, the canons' dwelling and the steam rooms, all fine examples of 15th and 16th century architecture. Fully furnished, the château also offers an immersion in the art of living through the ages.

Château de Montreuil-Bellay is also an exceptional wine estate, where you can taste the different vintages during your visit.
