Les Dolmens de Kerbourg

Description

The Kerbourg dolmens are located between the village of Kerhinet and the Moulin de La Masse.

Both dating from the Neolithic period, these buildings are corridor dolmens: collective tombs used from the prehistoric period to the Celtic civilisation.

The first of the two is 7 m long and 3 m wide.
The megalithic structure is well preserved and is still covered by four granite tablets.
Its construction style is similar to that of the Tumulus de Dissignac in the commune of Saint-Nazaire.

This monument to the Neolithic period is exceptionally well preserved, and bears witness to activity in our region 5,000 years ago.
Self-guided tour with QR code explanatory panel - don't forget your smartphone and listen to find out more.

The second dolmen has collapsed, with only the burial chamber's orthostats still standing.
