Description

Churches, venerable canon houses, beheaded mills and breathtaking views over the Loire Valley are just some of the stops on the way to discover Blaison-Gohier, a thousand-year-old village full of charm. On a slope planted with vines, Blaison grew up around a castle and a collegiate church dating back to the 11th century. The presence of canons and powerful lords explains the rich heritage of this village, which became part of the village of Gohier in 1974. The narrow streets and alleyways are lined with ancient canons' houses, the homes of notables, picturesque houses, old castles and cellars dug into the tufa rock. The village is the starting point for a number of discovery trails: audio guided walks, 3 hiking trails, the "Vignoble et Patrimoine" interpretation trail, and horse riding.

Other walks and events: information from the Anjou Vignoble et Villages Tourist Office.
