On this former shale quarrying site, commonly known as "Pierre Bleue", come and discover the skills of the old quarrymen and stonecutters amidst the shale moorland.
During your visit, you'll learn about the techniques used to extract and cut blue stone, as well as the moorland landscape typical of schist soils: poor, acidic stony soil that limits the diversity of plant life. Here you'll find lichens, orpins, heather and broom, which are ideal for lizards, rabbits, foxes and other troglodytes.
The Carrière du Parc is open from 26 June to 21 September 2026
Opening days: Saturdays and Sunday afternoons.
Opening times: 2.30pm to 6.30pm
- Free admission
