The washerwomen went down to the port of Saint-Aubin every day with their wheelbarrows full of washing, which they hung out on washing lines. This was the busiest place. Each one reported the news of the others.
From 19140, washing was also done on the banks of the Marcé stream; a covered wash-house had been built on the diversion, downstream from the Priou property. In 1929, the municipality authorised the construction of a covered wash-house on the Ponceau stream, near Le Verger.
