CHÂTEAU DE LA CALONNIÈRE

Château de la Calonnière is located in the heart of the Anjou region and has around twenty hectares of vines. The magic formula that enables the estate to get the best out of its grapes and produce a wide range of wines lies in these three essential components: a terroir of schist and sandstone, the Layon River bordering the vines and the famous mildness of Anjou.

At a time when the planet needs attention, every little gesture counts. Working towards a more respectful world is part of our philosophy. Our viticulture respects the soil and nature.
We have sown flowering fallow to bring biodiversity back to the plots and life to the soil. We have also stopped using chemical weedkillers and only use natural products to protect against disease. Our winemaking is based around minimal intervention in the wine and a respect for tradition. Harvesting by hand, slow pressing and limiting the use of sulphites enable us to produce wines of quality and character.
