


In 1921, Encausse-les-Bains took the name of Encausse-les-Thermes. The village was then a renowned spa for the treatment of malaria, liver diseases and hypertension and became a classified resort in 1929. The thermal baths ceased to operate in 1968, and the former thermal baths are now home to the Centre National des Arts de la Rue, Pronomade(s) en Haute-Garonne.
