Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle
Description
In the heart of the Labourd province, Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle is a very large village organized into different districts, including the lake district, which offers a wide range of activities with its sandy beach and supervised swimming in summer. Its fitness trail and picnic areas provide excellent opportunities for relaxation.
The Xistera glove, one of the many specialities of Basque pelota, was born in this village in 1857. An eco-museum in the tourist office is dedicated to the sport, with a 45-minute "sound and light" tour revealing all the secrets of this emblematic sport.
