[SIGHTSEEING AND ACTIVITIES] There are many sites to discover from this gite: the Châteaux de la Loire and Puy du Fou are 40 minutes away, the Camifolia garden in Chemillé is 10 minutes away, the Parc Oriental in Maulévrier (Europe's largest Japanese garden) is 20 minutes away, the Bioparc in Doué La Fontaine is 20 minutes away, and the beaches of the Vendée are 1 hour 30 minutes away. Angers (with its Terra Botanica plant park and historic town centre) is 45 minutes away, and Saumur (with its château and famous black frame) is 50 minutes away. If you're a wine-lover, there are plenty of appellations to tantalise your palate: Layon, Saumur Champigny, Anjou, Cabernet d'Anjou - in moderation! Gourmets will be delighted to discover local specialities such as gouline, the emblem of the department, and fouées, which can be filled to taste.
