"La Marche aux Boeufs" is the name of the path leading down to the beach. In the past, carts (teams of 2 oxen coupled by a yoke) would go down to collect goëmon on this beach, which forms a cove.

There has never been an ox market, but some sites and GPS systems, no doubt thinking there was a spelling mistake, have named it "Marché aux Boeufs".
The name of the site, "La Marche aux Boeufs", therefore derives from the path taken by the ox teams.
