Here, Homer's work is completely desacralised! Using plastic swords, paper crowns and a lot of fake blood, Compagnie Bravache uses laughter to take us through the terrible Trojan War in a fast-paced, dishevelled version. And, miraculously, everything becomes clear: the fierce battle of the Achaeans against the Trojans, the ingenuity of Ulysses, the bravery of Achilles, the moods of the gods and goddesses of Olympus.
For their first high-energy production, the four performers from Cie Bravache, who specialise in "ultra-realistic reconstructions of approximate ancient history", perform a fast-paced sequence of song, dance, stunts, special effects, false failures and real slip-ups.
This off-road iliad, packed into 40 minutes (timed!), is reminiscent of the popular, sharing spirit of trestle theatre.
