Let’s be honest: from the outside, I might not be the most glamorous in the neighbourhood. But Cati and Rudolphe have really pampered me on the inside, and that’s a different story altogether. Tasteful furnishings, a full set of crockery, all the appliances you could need – everything you need to feel truly at home. Except that one day, you’ll have to go back home. What a shame.
Nestled in the heart of the Vendée countryside, La Fenouillette accommodates up to four people in a peaceful, leafy and truly rejuvenating setting. Facing due south, it enjoys plenty of natural light all year round. And like all old farmhouses, it has plenty of experience: it stays cool in summer and retains warmth in winter. Natural insulation is an art that can’t be learnt – it has to be lived.
The fully fenced courtyard will delight pet owners, who can let their pets run about in complete peace of mind. When it comes to the outdoor area, we’ve spared no expense on comfort: a barbecue, garden furniture, sun loungers and a bike shed – everything you need to make the most of those lovely days in the Vendée.
When it comes to activities, you’re spoilt for choice. Puy du Fou, voted the world’s best theme park – no less – is just a short drive away. The beaches of the Vendée coast are also nearby, for those who prefer sand to chivalry. Not to mention the historic villages, the marshes, the abbeys, and all the treasures the Vendée has to offer, for the curious and the weekend adventurers.
La Fenouillette is the ideal base from which to explore one of France’s most popular tourist regions, and the perfect retreat to enjoy coming home to each evening.
