This monument, built to honour Saint Peter, patron saint of the village of Villers-deux-Églises, was erected in thanks for the protection the village received during the Second World War. It was inaugurated on the 24th October 1946.
Sculpted by H. Brognon, it's made out of French limestone. Its pedestal is made out of marble from the Traigneau quarry just outside Villers.
