Description

The vast complex of the Forum concert hall was developed at the beginning of the 1920’s at the heart of an old block, at the initiative of businessman Arthur Mathonet. The plans were established by architect Jean Lejaer, in a transitional style: whilst the inside décors such as the stained glass already clearly display the more geometric traits of Art Deco, the elements of the side façade on Rue d’Amay display more naturalistic curved lines again marked by the Art Nouveau style. This is evident with regard to the panels for the concert posters, with the organic lettering of the word ‘programme’.
