Situated on the border between the historic countries of Born and Marensin, the commune of Saint Julien en Born stretches from west to east over some fifteen kilometres, from the seaside district of Contis to the heart of the administrative town. A town where you will find, in all seasons, shops, to buy supplies and to eat. A good way to discover the local culinary specialities, including duck and Landes asparagus. Formerly located near a marshy area, cleaned up at the end of the 19th century, Saint Julien en Born is now, from February to June, a player in the production of sand asparagus. The oceanic climate and the sandy soil in which the asparagus grows give it a tender and unique flavour.
