Hellering
Description
There is a Jewish cemetery in this quarter of Hombourg where some of the tombstones date from as early as 1759. Leaving the village towards Guenviller you will find the pictureque ruins of Hellering Castle. The castle was probably built at the beginning of the 17th century, but destroyed by fire in 1918. It has remained a ruin ever since. It is well worth visiting the beautifully ornate gate (privately owned).
