Lake Saint-Étienne-Cantalès
Description
The second largest artificial lake in Auvergne is 13 km long and covers 563 ha of the former Cère valley. The beaches of Rénac and Espinet offer a wide range of water sports activities.
Fishing activity (2nd category = mainly predatory fish): A top spot for carp fishing! Fishing license required: Daily (€14), weekly (€36.50) or yearly permits (€87) on sale at www.cartedepeche.fr or from the above stockists including the Tourist Information point in Laroquebrou.
2026: Rainbow trout and spinycheek crayfish allowed all year round, pike not allowed between 01/26 to 04/24, zander from 03/09 to 05/29, largemouth bass from 05/11 to 07/03.
