The listed bell tower dates back to the 11th ? 12th century, while the rest of the building, built in 1845 in neo-Gothic style, is less interesting. This place of worship for the inhabitants of Lower Germany was built on a hillside near the old Angers road and the Athis ferry.
The town of Fleury-sur-Orne was formerly called Germany, in reference to the Germanic people of the Alamans who took part in the great barbarian invasions. But with the outbreak of the First World War in 1916, the municipal council of Germany unanimously decided to rename the commune Fleury-sur-Orne.
