Hohenbourg fortified Chateau

Description
Ce château semi-troglodyte construit dans, au-dessus et autour d’un rocher à 550 m d’altitude date du 13e siècle. Attaqué 2 fois au 15e siècle, les nouveaux propriétaires construisirent d’importants ouvrages défensifs. Mais le château sera détruit en grande partie lors d’un siège en 1523. Il est reconstruit entre 1571 et 1590 mais est définitivement détruit par les troupes de Montclar en 1680. Le château offre une magnifique vue sur le Palatinat au nord et sur la vallée du Steinbach au sud.
