Here remains the remains of a church whose tradition traces the foundation to two disciples of St. Peter. The oldest part, the apse, dates back to the 11th century. It is one of the rare testimonies of the Romanesque period in Savoy.
Situated in an imposing site facing the Dent Parrachée (3695 m) and the Rateau d'Aussois (3128 m), the church was falling into ruin and it was Dr. Marc de Lavis-Trafford, a British doctor who regularly visited Bramans, who had the ruins restored at his own expense. A benefactor to the village in many ways, he was made an honorary citizen in 1937.
