Built between 1724 and 1726 thanks to remarkable community involvement, the church of Saint-Amé reflects the village’s deep religious roots. Consecrated in 1732, it retains the typical architecture of 18th-century Vosges churches: a simple nave, an ornate choir, and a slender bell tower.
Highlights include:
A communion rail in wrought iron, dated 1774 and listed as a Historic Monument since 1956.
A main granite altar, created in 1962 by local stonemasons, in response to the Vatican II liturgical reforms.
Choir stained glass windows by the Mauméjean workshop, and nave windows by renowned master glassmaker Gabriel Loire.
A 19th-century pipe organ, crafted by the Géhin brothers, local organ builders — now a listed historic instrument.
A reliquary containing a relic of Saint Amé, founder of the Saint-Mont monastery and namesake of the village.
The church bears witness to centuries of local spirituality and communal heritage, rooted in monastic tradition and popular devotion.
