The Arthur Rimbaud Museum is a must-see place to learn more about the iconic poet born in Charleville.
Located in the heart of the historic centre, it offers visitors the chance to discover the life and work of Arthur Rimbaud through the poet's manuscripts and numerous works by contemporary artists such as Picasso, Léger, Giacometti, Cocteau, Max Ernst, Sonia Delaunay and, closer to home, Ernest Pignon-Ernest, all of whom were inspired by Rimbaud's poems and figure.
The Arthur Rimbaud Museum has over 2,000 works in its collection. These include autograph manuscripts such as "Voyelles" and "A la musique", photographs taken by Arthur Rimbaud, including self-portraits and snapshots of his daily life in Africa, and artists' books, veritable works of art, illustrating Rimbaud's poetry.
