The spinning mill, located on the site of a former woollen mill (1617), was converted in 1833 by François-Adolphe Ronnet. It grew despite the 1870 war and a fire in 1883, increasing the local population from 84 in 1856 to 546 in 1881.
Sold in 1894 to Lemaire and Dilliès, it became one of the largest carded wool mills in France before the Second World War, employing 500 workers in 1914. The business ceased in 1958.
The site includes rubble stone buildings, a square tower with a fire tank, a woollen shop, and an owner's dwelling dating from 1857 with a wrought iron veranda.
