Discover the church of Savigny-sur-Aisne, located in the middle of the village. Dating from the 15th century, this Gothic style church is dedicated to Our Lady of Nativity also known as Our Lady of Angevina. Constructed of local materials, the exterior facades are made of yellow stone from the quarries of Authe and Dom le Mesnil. The white stones that make up the interior and exterior walls come from the village of Chémery. The facade of the church is covered by a magnificent gate in the flamboyant Gothic style. The arched stained glass windows are bordered by fine plant sculptures. The sides of the arch are decorated with sculptures from Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Jean, Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul. At the top of the point, it is possible to admire the sculpture of a dragon whose mission is to push evil out of the church. Facing east, the church is built in the form of a Latin cross. The nave and heart form the longest branch and the transept represents the shortest branch. Visits to the church are possible on request at the town hall.
