Louis-Philippe Kamm and Northern Alsace are inseparable. He was born in Drachenbronn. As such, he is known as the ‘Master of Drachenbronn’. When he lived in Strasbourg, he had a house in Oberseebach where he regularly came to recharge his batteries and show his affection for his favourite region through his paintings. His choice of subjects from the local population of the Outre-Forêt earned him the nickname ‘Bauremoler’.
The AMROF (Les Amis de la Maison Rurale de l'Outre-Forêt), which inherited around a hundred of his drawings and sketches, is giving them a high profile at an exhibition. Among the many contemporary painters whose work faithfully reflects the deep soul of our region, following the example of Louis-Philippe Kamm, the Maison Rurale has given its esteem to Jean-Paul Ehrismann, a native of Seebach, renowned for his many watercolours inspired by the Outre-Forêt. Visitors will be able to appreciate the closeness and the interplay of the two artists' work.
