St remy's church

Saint-Remy de Domremy-la-Pucelle is the church where Joan of Arc was baptized. Expanded several times over the centuries, its orientation was reversed in the 19th century.
It still preserves vestiges contemporary with Joan of Arc, including a limestone baptismal font dating from the 15th or 16th century.
In 1956, Pierre Gaudin created stained-glass windows depicting the life of Joan of Arc to replace those destroyed in 1940.
A reliquary bust of Joan of Arc, called "Le dernier soupir" ("The Last Sigh"), created by Maxime Real del Sarte in 1929, is also on display, and contains in its base the earth on which the Rouen pyre was built.
