This typical village bears witness to the thermal activities of the Western Vosges. In addition to its church, its old mill and its three calvaries, Dolaincourt has the only sulphur source of the North of France. The source was exploited as early as in 1875 and a chalet with a refreshment and bottling room are quickly built. This water, that heals among others bronchitis and skin diseases, is shipped in the pharmacies of the region and in the big cities of France.
The exploitation stopped in 1914. The chalet was restored in 2012 by the "Les Amis de Sarmery" association.
