Cimetière militaire français de Gerbéviller
Description
The Military Cemetery at Gerbéviller, built in year 1920 at the same time as the neighbouring german cemetery, hold the dead bodies of 2 164 french soldiers. Those men have been killed in the neighbourhood between 1914 and 1918, in the main they died during the "Battle of Lorraine" which have take place from mid August to September 1914.
A central war memorial overhang this Military Cemetery. It is a place to stand in silence about 1st World War, with its view on the country-side with trees around.
The French Military Cemetery is accessible freely, every days in the year.
