Eglise Saint-Vincent-de-Xaintes

The original construction dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries, with a semicircular apse, timber-framed nave, wall-belfry and western portal. In the 15th and 16th centuries, a rib-vaulted chapel was built to the north, followed by a side aisle. At the same time, the apse was rib-vaulted and thickly buttressed, allowing large flamboyantly railed openings to be made in its walls.
In 1998, soundings in the north chapel revealed the presence of painted decoration, which was restored in April 1999.
