Today a Christian pilgrimage site, this headland is a place of worship probably since protohistory. Several remains of altars were found on the site. The present chapel was built in 1878 on the site of a chapel which had become too small to receive the pilgrims. Many ex-voto (votive offering) show great religious fervour attached to this place. The building below is a former convent built by the Discalced Augustinians (17th century).
