Founded in 948 in the heart of Arles by Black Monks, the Montmajour abbey is witness to 8 centuries of monastic architecture: a basic Carolingian monastery, a Romanesque abbey on two floors, a medieval pilgrimage chapel, a fortified tower during the Hundred Years' War and the spectacular ruins of a classical monastery with its refined design. From the top of the Pons de l'Orme tower, discover a unique view of the Alpilles and the Crau plain. This building was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
