The chapel was built in the second half of the 11th century, by the monks of the abbey Saint-Victor of Marseille. In 2008, during a restoration project, a fresco of a size approaching 60 m² was discovered. It represents the life of Jesus and would be the oldest known in Provence. Inventoried general heritage since 1969, the chapel left the inventory to be registered as an Historic Monument in 2011, conferring additional protection.
