Former rural house known as "Coucoute".
16th and 17th centuries - Wood and limestone rubble.
Formerly used as a dwelling and farm, this house, along with neighboring buildings, served as a common and tool shed. The building is one of the oldest and most rustic models in Coucoute. Part of it still stands on posts and beams. Although the house has undergone a number of alterations, notably to the framing, the original posts, beams and timbers have been preserved. Part of the building was enclosed by stone walls, including a cell with two small rooms, to provide better protection for the inhabitants. Gradually, new walls replaced the cob and half-timbering. The modifications also protected the building from the rain to the west and the heat to the south.
