Château La Forêt.
15th and 18th centuries - Limestone.
The remains of a Gallo-Roman villa dating from the 3rd and 4th centuries were discovered in the property's vineyards. Discovered by airplane in 1972, it consists of a building with a gallery and corner towers, identical to the layout of Château La Forêt. A similar villa existed on the site of the former church of Saint-Jean-d'Anzas, 2 kilometers to the south. The property has two semi-buried vaulted cellars. Formerly above-ground, they constituted vast storerooms for living, stretching along the entire length of the building. Under one of the towers, probably originally a keep, the guard room dates back to the 15th century. The estate thus joins the list of Entre-Deux-Mers castéra. The wines produced here have won awards since the 19th century. To the south is a remarkable formal garden.
