Moulin de Rosière - Circa 17th century and 1729 - Limestone and flint.
Water mills are always built on rocky foundations at the fording point used as a bridge. The damp location is ideal for reeds, which farmers use as cushions for carriage frontals, faychines for carrying loads, oysières for hens and ruchoux or bourines for honey, or to weave dèoü pailloux. The mill thus took its name from the rosières that surrounded it. Probably dating from before the 18th century, it formed part of the estate of Château de Pailhas. Restored after the Wars of Religion, the mill has a lintel engraved with an inscription: Anne de Rabar a feyt batir ce moulin l'an 1729. Widow of Jean Augustin de Ségur, seigneur des Francs". Built directly on the Soulège river, this mill had no millstream, but was equipped with a shovel
