Bread oven - 16th and 18th centuries - Stone and bardelis.
This bread oven is part of the outbuildings of Château Vigouroux. A few remnants of these outbuildings have been restored, close to a large barn or farmhouse. Bread was baked for the whole household. The estate is home to the imposing and dilapidated Selles dovecote, built in the 15th century, away from but within sight of the lord's dwelling. Like all dovecotes of the time, it was guarded by a servant. The servant's dwelling, then the farmhouse and outbuildings, including the oven, grew up around the dovecote.
