Château de La Bauze

Description

Château La Bauze - Early 16th century.
Château de la Bauze overlooks the Gravouse valley. Originally, the fief was called Bourdilla. In 1604, Jehan de Latouche, one of the lords of Pineuilh, became the owner and had the sculptures remodeled. In 1717, following a dispute between Jean de Rabar, baron de La Bauze, and Jean de Fontayne, owner of Les Bouhets, the French parliament ordered the castle's destruction, which was partially carried out. Several owners succeeded one another in this former fortified castle, of which only a part has survived.
