Les Cabanes - 15th and 17th centuries - Wood, cob and stone.
Les Cabanes is an ancient hamlet of hovels, dating back to the Middle Ages and comprising the dwellings of lumberjacks, peasants and serfs. After the French Revolution, cob was gradually replaced by stone, but some sections of the walls have retained their original appearance. The gable of this coucoute retains its half-timbering on the façade. The wall was added against the old cob, concealing and protecting it. The door is surmounted by the original wooden lintel taken from the frame. A small window was opened in the 18th century, and a new bay was added later. The stone sink spout, crossing the low wall and opening onto the ruet, is still visible. The old thatched roof has been replaced by a tiled one.
