In the heart of the village of Serra di Scopamena, take a magnificent path that winds between dry stone walls bordering old vegetable gardens to discover a traditional building emblematic of the mountain culture of southern Corsica.
The trail begins with a dry-stone paved descent to the district of Vangonu (the valley), which was once the heart of a vital resource for the inhabitants of this mountain village: the chestnut. Walking through the chestnut grove, you will find a small traditional building called the "siccatoghju", a chestnut dryer.
Continuing the walk, you will reach an authentic water mill called "u fragnu", fed by an aqueduct and located on the edge of the stream. After leaving the mill, you will take a beautiful path that winds between dry stone walls bordering the old vegetable gardens.
The last part of the hike will take you to the Cadisusinu district, where you will find beautiful light-coloured granite buildings with a sober and massive architecture. Finally, the wash-house fountain will be the last stage of this discovery of a village emblematic of the mountain culture of southern Corsica, on this path of heritage and agricultural practices.
